Online ZOOM Sessions
Since COVID-19, relying on ZOOM sessions has been one of the most positive approaches in helping people stay on track with their health and fitness.
You don’t have to already be fit, as MeActive provides simple easy to follow exercise sessions for all levels.
If you want to improve your cardiovascular, strength, core and flexibility then MeActive has a fabulous session for you!
What is ZOOM?
ZOOM allows you to virtually interact with Dani the instructor. This makes telecommuting seem much more human, as it helps you feel connected.
You can check-in to a session using a simple link and you can choose to be seen or hidden. Most people opt to be seen as Dani can see you, what you are doing, correct your posture, and help motivate and praise you which are important to improving.
To attend any of MeActive Online sessions, all you need to do is purchase one of the Online memberships. This membership is unlimited which allows you to attend all sessions on the timetable. View Timetable!
Core & Body
Core exercises train the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work in harmony. This leads to better balance and stability, whether on the playing field or in daily activities. In fact, most sports and other physical activities depend on stable core muscles. You will need a mat preferably a medium to thick mat as the thin mats can be uncomfortable on knees.
CARDIO & TONE
In this session a combination of light resistance training with a complete cardiovascular workout. With the use of dumbbells, recommended (1-2.5kg) only not heavier. This powerful, fat blasting routine is gentle on the joints and tough on unwanted weight. All levels of fitness are welcome, exercises will be modified to allow beginners to workout at their own pace.
A rapid fat-burning class that uses weights. We recommend light weights (1- 2.5kg) to start with for a few weeks then progress to a mixture of light to heavy ( 2.5kg – 4kg). Body Tone is a dynamic workout incorporating functional movement and resistance in a variety of formats to burn fat, tone & build lean muscle! All levels are welcome, you will also need a mat for some of the exercises performed and abdominal section at the end.
A fusion of Ballet, Pilates and Stretch. The Barre sessions will leave you feeling re- aligned, balanced and strengthened. Expect to have fun, increase your stamina and endurance with the use of props to assist with this all over body workout, special attention to the legs and bottom. You will need to have a chair handy in which you will use as a Barre and you will also need a mat. Beginners to advanced people are very welcome. No sneakers required, simply barefoot or grip socks.
ABS, BUTTS & THIGHS
This class is designed to tone those targeted areas with a series of repetitions to make sure that the muscles contract and work effectively. All levels of fitness are welcome. You will be spending the first part of the session on your hands and knees then the last half on your back. You will need a mat or something that you can lie on to protect your spine.
High Intensity Interval
HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. All levels of fitness are welcome, options will be given so that you can work out to suit your pace. Over time, you will become stronger and fitter. Mat and weights could be used, so have these ready for each session. Get ready to sweat!
In this session, it is all about boosting your heart rate with some boxing moves. No impact simply boxing moves using your arms and legs to initiate sequences such as upper cuts, jabs, hooks, kicks and more. This will help you to lose those unwanted kilo’s and tone the body. The exercises are easy and effective but most of all a lot of fun! All levels of fitness are welcome, and options will be given to help you increase your stamina. You will need a mat for the abdominal section and light weights (1-1.5kg) not heavier.
FLEX & STRETCH
The Stretch and Flex Program can prepare the body for everyday work stresses. This is done through stretching and strengthening the specific muscles that are commonly associated with strains, sprains or just need a good stretch. If performed correctly and regularly, these exercises may reduce the incidences of muscle injuries. Stretching is important in maintaining the muscle’s pliability and length. When a muscle shortens, the ability to perform a task involving that muscle decreases, which can then increase the risk of injury. This is especially noticeable in the lower back region. Tightness of the upper back, lower back, hamstrings, and calves can increase the risk of pain and injury to the spine. Maintaining the muscle’s proper length and pliability allows the body to maintain the proper biomechanical position and decreases the possibility for injury. You will need a mat to use during this session. Shoes are optional, there is no impact work.
This is a 30 minute session that focuses on the abdominal/core region, giving you strength and shape to your belly.
This class is a surprise class where the instructor will let you know when you log in. It could be a fusion of cardio and strength, core and strength, full body tone and more. You will need a mat. The instructor will advise you what else you will need for a FUSION class.
The benefits of step aerobics is that it is great for cardiovascular health, mental health, bone strength, and muscle strength, lose weight and have fun are just a few of the many benefits that you can reap from this type of exercise. You will be required to own a step which you can purchase from a sports store. Dani will advise you where to look to purchase a step.
